Limestone

This is my first limestone carving, done in 1989 shortly after arriving in Ohio from California, where I had studied art. This was done entirely by hand, as I had no idea about pneumatic tools yet, or diamond blades, etc. When I finished it, in the lot of a kitchen and bath and monument marble and granite shop owned by my still good friend not here named, said still good friend gave me a job, my first job in the stone industry. I started at $5.00/hr cash under the table. This piece was given to my in-laws and is still with them.
