Talisman

This fun piece is the result of a charity auction I donated my services to. The family that bought the donation wanted me to tell a story using the talisman each member of the family chose for itself. The youngest child was probably about five, as I recall. It was about twenty years ago., so I can be excused the details of memory.

 

I remember the Dad was the owl, the son the wolf… I think the mom was the spruce tree, the daughter the tree frog, and the other son the bear. I think I added the moon and called it a day.

Years later the son came to work with me for a summer, as he recovered from the tragic loss of a friend. It was good to get to know him as an adult.

I would like to see updated pics of this piece, to see how it has aged over the years.
