While riding from Ohio to New York for the annual Stone Carvers Guild meeting, myself and two other members carpooling there saw the most beautiful red stone left over from the blasting of the freeway. We stopped and gathered a few pieces. I carved this head from a small sample. The stone is extremely hard- I broke a couple chisel tips on this piece.
