Carved from rocks found in natural creek beds, this piece of this series demonstrates the strong grain pattern of the material. This native Ohio sandstone can be found in north central Ohio near many of the ravines.  It is soft on the surface, but the individual grains are nearly diamond hard. Very abrasive on both tools and lungs in it’s powdered form.
